Do you have an escape place? I think I’ve found mine.

Me and my friends decided to go to the botanical garden since we don’t have classes in the afternoon. I went there last year, if I’m not mistaken, and I absolutely loved the place. It’s really near my college, so it’s a plus.

I’ve never thought I would fall in love with it. There’s something magical about it and I wish I lived there. But that can’t happen, so I’ll make it my escape place (in a very special spot). If I lived right next to it, I would go there everyday.

History:

For what I’ve researched, this botanic garden was bought by João Henrique Andresen in 1895. When he bought this place he decided to adapt this garden to the current movement in that time that was the Romanticism. However this only because a Botanic Garden in 1951.

I know this garden because of a famous writer, here in Portugal, called Sophia de Mello Breyner (she belongs to this family) but there’s also Ruben Andresen, writer as well, that actually lived there.

In 2017, last year, opened the Biodiversity Gallery, a museum about life on earth, evolution and biodiversity.

This is where my escape place is.

This place just instantly makes me smile. “Funny” story: I’m allergic to pollen and I never got an allergy reaction the couple of times I went there.

“pretend you’re distracted” – nop, it didn’t work.

Looking for my will to study.

The next time I go there, I plan to take a professional camera with me. There are lovely spots I really want to share with you and it can’t be shown from a camera’s phone.
