How you doing?
Last week I went to Lisbon to attend Iberanime. It’s an anime convention that we have 2 times per year, one in Lisbon and another in Oporto. It’s been a while since I wanted to purchase Mochi and Taiyaki but I never got the chance, so I decided to buy and start trying new things. Without further ado, let’s start.
Green Tea Mochi
It’s not the first time that I ate mochi, but it is the first time eat a green tea flavored one. I will have to give my truest opinion about it: I HATED IT. I gave it a bite and I almost puked. I feel really sad because I ate the red bean one and it was actually good.
If I had to rate the green tea mochi, I would rate it 1/5 but the red bean one would be at least 3,5/5.
Chocolate Taiyaki
About Taiyaki, it’s simply an Japanese cookie in a fish shape. What I know about japan is that usually they used red bean and people here, where I live, often mistaken it for chocolate. But this one was actually chocolate and I was expecting red bean. It was delicious and nothing surprising, I would give it 5/5 even though it’s a “normal cookie”.
This is all I have to say about it. Have you tried any of these? Leave a comment, I want to know your opinion.
Thank you for reading and…
See you in the next post!

Oooh, I’ve had taiyaki in Korea! It’s just that the name is different, they call it bungeo-ppang here. It has the same fish shape and is filled with red bean too. I guess Korea was influenced by Japan. And that’s too bad that you don’t like the green tea mochi, sometimes I have that love-hate relationship with green tea. At times it tastes good, but other times, it doesn’t!

I would like to taste the red bean one!
I love green tea pocky though and if you have a love-hate relationship with it, maybe I have it too? I’ll give it another try some day.
Thank you for reading!

Never heard of it before 💕 I love green tea. Unfortunately, I don’t think they sell it in Spain to try it

They usually sell in japan stores (or maybe some regular stores), anime stores and anime events. 🙂

I like fruit flavoured mochi, and I’ve tried that exact fish cookie yesterday, here in Hanoi, in a Japanese shop! Yes, it’s delicious! What a strange coincidence…
